Unique Records is a label focused on the development of quality songs and songwriters in dance music. The label was founded by DJ Henry Storch in 1988 initially as a home for Garage, Thrash, Beat and independent hammond bands. Between 1988 and 1993 Henry Storch put out as many as twenty 45s-singles and one album of the almost legendary Prime Movers Sins Of The Forefathers. Other acts on the label by that time included Thee Milkshakes, The Tommyknockers, The Embryonics, Heartbeats, Wylde Mammoths and others. Unique Records took a timeout as Henry Storch set up his own Unique Club venue in 1995 in Dusseldorf which has since become known as one of Europe's top leftfield dance / club venues being likened to the Mojo Club, Into Something and the Jazz Cafe as well as the former UK Blue Note. In 2005, the Unique Club celebrated it's 10th anniversary.

Unique Records was re-established in 1998 with new partner Tino Stoschek, a former music journalist who has been a dedicated musician ever since. Unique Records opened it's musical repertoire into any genre outside house or techno: Jazz, (Nothern) Soul, Funk, Rare Groove, Latin, Urban / HipHop, DrumnBass, Leftfield Dance and especially heavy break-beats of all kinds!
