SIMON EVE

Simon Eve began his career back in 1997 at Pete Wardman's club Sherbet, and it wasn't long before he moved up through the ranks on the London circuit, securing main set residencies at Freedom at Bagleys, Wildlife at Heaven, where he played alongside the likes of Carl Cox, John 'OO' Fleming and Scott Bond, and the notorious Tinrib Recordings night Fish! with fellow residents Steve Thomas, Karim, Captain Tinrib and Dave Randall. Today Simon holds down residencies at Antiworld, Recoverworld and Fish! in London, Insomniacz in Sheffield and The Fishtank in Portsmouth, as well as making regular guest appearances around the country at the likes of Sundissential in Birmingham, Dance Academy in Plymouth, Sinergy in Manchester, Drum in Aberdeen and Nuklear Puppy in Edinburgh.

Having set up the Recharge label in 2000, and releasing two volumes of the '21st Century Hard House' compilation CDs soon after, the distinctive Simon Eve sound of pumping house and trance soon went global, and he has since toured overseas to Ireland, Finland, Holland, Ibiza, South Africa, Australia and Japan. He's already been asked back to Japan 5 times, having played at leading events Womb, Velfarre, Code and Protocol, while in Holland he's had the privilege of playing at HQ, the 12,000 capacity main arena at the Impulz Indoor Festival twice, and the hard dance arena at two consecutive outdoor Dance Valley events, the outdoor festival that features the likes of Ferry Corsten, Armin van Buuren, Scot Project, Andy Farley, BK and Yoji Biomehanika.

The extensive range of clubs and countries that Simon has DJ'd in displays his musical versatility, and this remains one of his strongest attributes today, enabling him to play from tough, funky house, through to trance and the hardest of hard house depending on the occasion. However, what undoubtedly sets him apart from other DJs is the music at his disposal. Through his work at React Music, a label that releases projects from the biggest names in global dance music, to the more underground releases of Eve Records and the Recover, Recharge and Discover labels, he works with many of the scene's leading producers on a daily basis, getting first pick on all the new productions. Add to this the upfront CD-Rs and test pressings he's sent for his hard trance and hard house reviews in DJ Magazine, then you can begin to understand how he generates his unique sound that virtually no other DJ can match until weeks or months later!

Simon's own studio productions have come to the fore during 2003 with a string of singles and remixes released on leading labels proving popular with DJs and press alike, earning rave reviews in Mixmag, DJ, Muzik, I-DJ, M8 and other leading publications, with several licensed onto best selling compilation albums such as the Tidy Trax 'Resonate' and 'Insomnia' series. He also released two compilation CDs of his own in 2003, with 'Recoverworld Live Vol 1' recorded 100% live in front of a capacity crowd at The Fridge in London. Truly a man at one with his music and the crowd!
