Ntrop Recordings presents Joalz selection for Rodon fm
アテネを拠点にするエクスペリメンタル・アーティストJOALZは先月、'07 - '10年にかけてアテネ、ベルリン、NYで録音をした２枚目のスタジオアルバムをリリースしたばかり。
アルバムはAnthony and the JohnsonsのチェリストJulia Kentとの合作'Early'で始まり、2曲目、Sunday Luvをフューチャしたファーストシングル'Sweeping Range'は、実に興味深いインディートロニカ＆ノイズをもって見事なクラウトロック再生へのアプローチを見せている。'Case Study'、'Out Of My System'、'Blind Date'は元々、各国際映画祭でも紹介されたGeorge Drivas監督の３部作Social Software'の為に作曲されたが、後にこのアルバム用に再録音されたムーディなトラック。そして、3/4拍子のギターリズムとシモンズ製ドラムマシン独特の抽象的なサウンドが押し出された'Bella Fu'は、このアルバムの見せる広い世界を代弁していると言えよう。
今回は、そんなJOALZがギリシャのインディー局Rodon FMの為にセレクトした彼らのレコードコレクションと'Sweeping Range'と'Bella Fu'をフューチャしたセットをお届けしよう。
