CNTRL Wasteland has been sharing their thoughts on techno music at the local underground, constantly exploring the notion of deep and upbeat techno soundscapes, alongside vivid manifestations of moving images that simply create a one-of-a-kind audio-visual experience.

+

Another appearance by Donn (Kinemat/Love International) is definitely not to be missed.

" For DONN, the world of dance music isn't a small one, but a veritable universe of cosmic sounds and styles entirely ripe for the picking. As a self-made experiential evangelist, this taste-maker is best known for sets that push dance envelope and musical moves that calls for interaction. Basically there's no way you will be standing still with DONN in the house. " - (JUICE SG, Nov 2011)

Best known for his vital demonstrations on Insomnia Café. Followed by his multidisciplinary works with now defunct Kinemat, inspires a foundation that engineers beyond lifestyles of emerging trends. A guerrilla leader, constantly pushing boundaries of unique experiences, lead his team as Singapore’s edgiest youth activation outfit and party advocates from 2000 - 2010.

+

Also back gracing the decks would be the lovely mister, Gaijin (Malaysia) of Kuala Lumpur House Invaders.

Placing 4th in Juice DJ Quest Finals 2008 and being crowned the champion of Pioneer Digital DJ Battle 2008 and finalist in 2009, the future is looking bright for this hard-working young newcomer in the scene.

+

A debut for Shermern at CNTRL Wasteland, a young kid with a heart for deep, cold techy vibes sets to open the night.

+

An experience deep and uncompromising for all.

A mix done for a friend I would not want to lose, Jeanne Roboh. She leaves Singapore, Home Club, CNTRL Wasteland for France after almost a year messing around some of our lifes. A true friend, a madness one, definitely a fun one. Some things won't stay the same without her. So I decided to do up a mix the day after her flight off, that I could play whenever Roboh comes in mind/heart. Bisou bisou!

We are happy to finally bring you news about our NYE 2011 / 2012 at Bakita. Headlining we have Hebbo supported by Adam J and feat. Dora Diamond for the first time.

Our special guest is none other than Notion A (Home/CNTRL Wasteland). Notion A and indeed the CNTRL Wasteland imprint he run are without doubt one of the most important young DJ to emerge in electronic music in the Singapore scene in the last two years or so on.

Notion A, also known as Amjad Shah, spent his early years in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, before he came back to Singapore in 2007. Inspired by living in Singapore, raves and Home Club, he became a techno-pounder under weighted player in the industry, loopinmotion. This passionate DJ works hard to share his beliefs about music with others.

He pours his heart and soul into advocating techno. He has been spinning to educate and entertain like-minded music enthusiasts for the past four years. His sound is an infusion of his skills as well as a buffet of influences that focus on the audio, visual, people and techno. He founded Kuala Lumpur House Invaders, a massive collective of musicians and individuals who aim to respect the past and present of music for the future. At present, he also runs CNTRL Wasteland, an event aimed to educate music enthusiasts in the sounds of experimental electronic music that’s paired up with live visual projections.

Notion A also works for Frontal, a specialised local dance collective focused on promoting dance culture to starting-out bedroom jocks and budding electronic musicians. He is a resident himself on Frontal iFM, an online platform promoting Electronic Dance Music through Singaporean and international artistes.

Now known best for being actively working on CNTRL Wasteland, Notion A sets to share the sound of techno for the current and coming generations.

pardon the screw ups at parts due to technical faults as i was forcing myself through a rough night having one of the turntables dying off at times.
NOTE: Mix has been recorded LIVE at REBEL.

Of all the mixes posted so far, i must say that this is my fav. as usual i have no idea what i was going to play and dumped tracks into the playlist. really glad not to have any technical difficulties as well.

Challenging ourselves yet again to feed the sound we love most to unsuspecting audience, and at the most unexpected venues for techno. It's just a way of us showing that music knows no barriers. Techno knows NO barriers. It shouldn't be allotted a place and it doesn't take refuge in anything.

And you, the audience, the listeners, you are the operator. Simply 'cos you know the space don't make the music, but you do. It's okay to feel like another self … in another strange place. It shouldn't matter cos the music is still with you. Others might feel discomfort with the hyper-repetitive beats, but not you. 'Cos you believe that only by irritating the oyster that you produce the pearl.

Resistance will be futile.

Loop returns to REBEL for the second instalment of a new monthly series, challenging ourselves yet again to feed the sound we love most to unsuspecting audience, and at the most unexpected venues for techno. It's just a way of us showing that music knows no barriers. Techno knows NO barriers. It shouldn't be allotted a place and it doesn't take refuge in anything.

It shouldn't matter cos the music is still with you. Others might feel discomfort with the hyper-repetitive beats, but not you. 'Cos you believe that only by irritating the oyster that you produce the pearl.

Resistance will be futile. See you there.
