Jay Shepheardはモダン・ダンスミュージックに於いてちょっと「別格」と言えるエキサイティングなサウンドを聞かせてくれるアーティストだ。メインストリームのものに比べるとちょっとスローで安定したテンポながら、彼の生み出すグルーヴはクリアで中から外から身体を動かさずにはいられなくなるような深いフィーリングがギッシリなのだ。このような巧妙なアレンジが効いた音楽は、ニューディスコ、ディープハウス、そしてテクノに至るまで広いジャンルで難なく受け入れられ、また新旧サウンドのギャップを埋めるものである。Jayは既にCompost傘下の人気レーベルBlack Labelや、Dirt Crewなどからリリースを放っており、加えて自身のRetrofitレーベルもスタートさせたばかりで、Retrofitからは今後もエキサイティングなShepheardサウンドが期待出来るだろう。

"samuraiからDJミックスのリクエストを受けて凄く光栄だよ。過去数年は、たくさんのライブや自身のミュージックのプロデュースに時間を費やしたけど、最近になってDJ活動にもまた力を入れる様になって来たんだ。このミックスでは、僕のお気に入りの新旧、色々なジャンルのもの、そしてエディット・バージョンのクラシックをフューチャしているんだけど、皆も楽しんで聞いてくれると良いな。:)"

    Alex G: 1st track is Keep on Keepin On by Chopstick and Johnjon. 2nd track is "Pina" by Metro Area. The Chic edit that he plays next is wicked and the last track is an edit of Gwen Mcrae - Keep the fire Burning. Great mix ;)
