Loads of reissue bits in this edition, including a little mambo from Fay Simmons, crack-soul from Lee Harris, Nigerian funk from Ebo Taylor Jnr, experimental middle-Eastern vibes from Muslimgauze, some Volta jazz from Volta Jazz, Japanese post-punk from Saboten, spacey synth sounds from Craig Leon, Yugoslavian disco from Hajra Sucurija, melodica dub from Naffi Sandwich, and some very chilled guitar sounds from Mali courtesy of Boubacar Traore.

Back to the modern day, and some album bits from Eric Copeland, Max Richter, Bill Callahan, Bill Orcutt, and L. Piere; singles from Juju & Jordash, Jahiliyya Fields, and an absolute beast of a tune from Ricardo Villalobos & Max Loderbauer feat. Azeem, and regular features In The News and Needlesharing with Feed Me Weird Things.

Enjoy x

I've been soundin like a stuck record all week. It's all been a bit 'Lonnie Holley this' or 'FKA Twigs that,' as the two continue to monopolise my listening time. Others have had a look in though. Ace singles from Alan Johnson, Monica Hits The Ground, Beau Wanzer, and Daze Of Heaven; EPs from Helm, and SHXCXCHXSH rcnstrctd; and albums from Tropic Of Cancer, Factory Floor, Walton, Bill Orcutt, Giuseppe Ielasi & Andrew Pekler, Body/Head, Saroos, and Eric Copeland. Oh yeah, and some old Blue Daisy and a bigfuckoffhuge track from China that sends shivers down the spine. Enjoy x

It's all about Lonnie Holley this week for me, as his second album just dropped on Dust To Digital. Astonishing sounds. But there's a lot of other good stuff too. The FKA Twigs EP is particularly fine. And the new Giuseppe Ielasi and Andrew Pekler collaboration is top.

Those besides, other EP greatness from MGUN, Black Sites, and Marie Mathematique, and top notch albums from Slutever, Ras G, Master Musicians Of Bukkake, and the fruits of Laurent Jeanut's latest trip round Southern China.

Also... *new feature* alert!! Feed Me Weird Things and Kamikaze team up for a weekly duel. Tune of the week, both ways. It's gonna be ace. It's called Needlesharing. You can hear the first fruits in here, and at mixcloud.com/feedmeweirdthings

Otherwise it's all about banjos, crickets, orchestral covers, chickens, dreads, and a borrowed record.

All in all a quite wonderful week for music round this way. Enjoy the tunes folks x

It was the warmest day in six years in the UK on Monday, and in the height of it I was locked inside the NTS sweatbox. Way too hot. Plenty ace tunes though, including field recordings of birds by Chris Watson, split albumness with Heroin In Tahiti and Ensemble Economique, and the two very different sides of Pan Sonic's former members, Mika Vainio and Ilpo Väisänen, on bleakcore and carhorns respectively. [https://soundcloud.com/staalplaat-soundsystem/yokomono-pro-gent for more on the car horn project, as I forgot to turn the mic on whilst explaining that!]. Those aside, delightful bells from Charlemagne Palestine, banjo demolition with Paul Metzger, modern classical by the Marsen Jules Trio, and a hefty slab of motorik spacerock from Ved. Beaty repetition this time comes courtesy of Rrose, Rodhad, Berliner Ring, and Moerbeck, traditional sounds are from Cameroon and Afghanistan, and there's the usual 'loads more besides' to tie it all together. Beautiful sounds. Enjoy x

This time round, album bits from Toshimaru Nakamura, Marissa Anderson, Rod Hamilton, Legowelt, Innode, and William Ryan Fritch; singles from, DJ Rashad & DJ Manny, Blood Music, and Clap! Clap!; classics from Melt Banana, Stereolab, Daphne Oram, The Free Design, and Digable Planets; from the further-flung corners, some Polynesian drumming and a bit of Turkish crooning; and a bumper stack of reissues from Hailu Mergia, Scott Key, Bernt Rosengren & Krzysztof Komeda Trio, David Rosenboom & Jacqueline Humbert, and Ü. Probably about as eclectic a set of tunes you'll hear on the radio all week, and each of them a winner. Hope you're all enjoying the sunshine x

Brand new singles from Sensate Focus, Ancient Methods, and Boner M; albums from Okkyung Lee, Dirty Beaches, Evol, Jeri-Jeri, Birgitte Alsted, Co La, and Lorelle Meets The Obsolete; some Mississippi treats from Johnny Waleen, The New Gospel Keys, and United Sacred Harp Convention; a couple of selections from such extreme Northern territories as Lapland and St Lawrence Island, Alaska; other exotic sounds from Greece, Libya, Turkey and Corsica; and Suns Of Arqa reworked by Muslimgauze. Hope this one's as fun to listen to as it was to record! Enjoy x
