A dedicated DJ and music maker since his teens, Nick Luscombe has since gone on to become one of the UKs most influential radio DJs with his long running weekly Flo-Motion show on XFM. Since 2000 he has pioneered a compelling blend of deep club music incorporating elements of broken-beat, jazz, techno and soul, with his selections also journeying into the more experimental side of electronic and folk music. Nick also presents radio for the BBC and in-flight radio shows for KLM, British Midland, Singapore Airlines and Air New Zealand. Constantly in demand as a club DJ in London, Europe and Japan, Nick is equally home playing at large outdoor festivals (Big Chill, V, Glastonbury etc. ) as well as intimate club events.
London residencies include monthly sessions at the ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts), Market Place, Big Chill Bar and Cocoon. Nick is the man behind the popular folk inspired club night, Roots and Shoots, plus a regular electronic live music event at the ICA, where he also works as the organisation's Director of Music. Nick has masterminded two compilation albums of modern Japanese club music, has released two critically-acclaimed Flo-Motion volumes as well as a mix CD for Exceptional Records, whilst his Bambola Recordings label continues to showcase the best in emerging Japanese producers. Nick has also authored articles for various British magazines, and continues to contribute record sleeve comments and notes.
