The Pirate TV Archive
Born out of the excitement of Coldcut's early pirate radio days on the original Kiss FM, frustration with the dumbing down of legal stations and the straitjacket of commercial television, www.piratetv.net started netcasting in Jan 1999. Our slogan - DIY psychedelic political interactive streaming zentertainment with quality content from top selectors . The first show was an impromptu jam that came out of Coldcuts spacelab at ninjatunes hq in London. From there it blossomed as more and more people tuned in and caught onto the vibe and offered to do shows.
Shows varied in style and content as the doors were wide open as to what people wanted to do. In these early days of live audio / visual web streaming it was "anything goes". All the different contributing shows are too many to mention but amongst them were Coldcuts weekly jam from the spacelab , Nomigs eclectic audio / visual selection from vancouver , Dubwiser - dreadzones show live from their house of dread in London , Digital Disco from cambridge , Stage4 from london , Echolocation from sanfransisco , Digidub from london and many many more.
