Fumiya Tanaka DJ sets are well known for their technique, originality, imagination, and sensibility. His sets stretch the possibilities of music, and his rich and cutting edge groove has kept techno fans all over the world engaged for more than a decade.
Fumiya always questions himself and his audience philosophically what "playing records" is all about and has been trying to break and reconstruct the traditions and the cliches of the scene through his long-running career. This approach can be found in both his DJ sets and his productions (Fumiya Tanaka, KARAFUTO, INDIVIDUAL ORCHESTRA etc.). His "exploration of unknown possibilities" attitude has influenced many other artists all over the world, not least in his home country of Japan where he is widely regarded as a pioneer of the scene.
