The Clinic Session with DJ Lurch
DJ Lurch has been involved in the music industry for over seven years now, building up a career as a DJ and music journalist as well as being involved with many different record label.

His DJ career took off in 1996, with a residency for Shimmy (Bristol, UK). As well as regular appearances at the world-renowned Lakota club (Bristol), spinning his sound in the back room of Temptation. Through the late 90's LurchÕs reputation spread, playing guest slots across the UK, with memorable gigs including BristolÕs St. PaulÕs Carnival; while trips to Luxembourg, Spain and Holland saw Lurch spread those wings even further.

Towards the end of the 90's Lurch was invited to become resident at Bristol's longest-running drum & bass night - Drive By; while he also stepped into the promotion game with club nights Staccato and The Clinic. Since then, The Clinic has taken on many guises. From it's underground home at Cosies to the back rooms of the bigger Bristol clubs, to its current occasional-shindig status. However, what you can always guarantee is that The Clinic will bring you broadest and best beats around.

Alongside Lurch's DJing commitments he has also been involved with a number of underground record labels - Tech Itch Recordings, Breakbeat Culture, Ruffneck Ting Records, 24 Seven Recordings, and BS1 Records. He has one record release to his name, 'Outa-Orbit' (a collaboration with General Midi) on Planet Breakz. While his journalistic style can currently be found in Knowledge magazine and iDJ.

The Clinic Session presents Phantom Beats

In the five short that Matt and Neil Phantom have been working together they have knocked up an impressive array of achievements. They have DJed all around the world, been broadcast on BBC Radio One (both DJing and Live), held down residencies at legendary clubs and released records that have become classics. Their mash-up DJ style first brought them to the attention of the promoters ofHeavenly Jukebox, the birthplace of Big Beat, who shipped them to London. They caused such a riot that they were invited back on a monthly basis. From there on they made progress through Britain's clubs, blowing dancefloors away as their style became funkier and tougher. It was about this time that they started to produce their own music and that's when the world really sat up and listened...

2003 was the year of "21st Century Breaks", a triple-CD mix with Soul Of Man on React Records which receiving gushing praise from press and punters alike. Some called it "hands down the best breaks compilation on the market"whilst Mixmag said "Full marks rating = Beast!". It was no surprise that it has been non-stop ever since for the boys. By the end of the year their records will have travelled through four continents with them finishing 2003 with a three week tour of Australia and Japan. At this rate 2004 had better watch out!!! The duo touch down this Friday (12th Dec) at the Ruby Room playing alongside Duck Rock and Mike McKenna.
