MADOX
Also known as Stefano Miele, student of oriental languages at the University of Naples, he's been doing music his whole life, defining his style as 'locked _break grooves with techno energy'.
In 2003 was approached by Mantra Breaks, the first Italian breakbeat label. It was love at first sight. The G Toolz ep was his first release. This tool caught the attention of the international breakbeat scene but it was just with the second episode, The G Toolz ep 2 containing 'Resonance Song' (then remixed by Phil Kieran) and The G Toolz ep3 (The Funk Side Of The Toolz) that Madox got a real standing ovation. To underline his crossover attitude was a very special release on prestigious Techno label Zenit: Marco Carola 'Avalanche' (Madox Remix). On Mantra in October 'Adventures in Drum: Brazil Careca/Alemao' sounding very Brazilian came out and the recent DJ MAG issue included Madox as one of the names to watch out in 2005.
Next for him is 'Trouble Soup', his first collaboration with Mantra mate Santos...
SASHA CARASSI
Sasha Carassi is one of the new talented Italian producers on the scene. From Naples just like Madox he started his career as a DJ in 1993.
At the age of 18, he started working with important producers such as Claudio Coccoluto travelling around Europe playing in the most important underground spots. In 1997 Sasha got into production mainly of house music with the project name of Simply Complicated and after that he started working as a soloist producing for a number of different labels such as the Guidance of Chicago and also a variety of groups such as Chicken Lips.
His sound is innovative house style with rock electro influence, an attitude which emerges also in his first breakbeat work ever; the first record relesed by Sasha on Mantra Breaks is 'The Break Cuts Of The Black Mamba E.P.' which includes 'Funkastible' and 'Robotika' and is defined as progressive breaks. This record is number 4 in the current Beats & Breaks Chart.
