Since Layo & Bushwacka! released their third, and highly acclaimed, artist album 'Feels Closer' in 2006, Olmeto Records has provided an outlet for the duo's creativity. We've seen remixes of album tracks such as the awesome 'Saudade Remix' and two fantastic reworks of 'Life2Live' from Green Velvet and Loco Dice. These have been followed up by new material such as the peak time Martin Luther King sampling 'Now Is The Time / The Time Was Then', and most recently the lush soundscapes of 'Djembe / The Sierra Madre'.
Over the next few months you can expect more new tracks, including remixes of UNKLE's Twilight', 'Dimension Intrusion' by FUSE, on Richie Hawtin's excellent Plus 8 label, and a re-work of Fat Boy Slim's 'He's Frank' featuring Iggy Pop.
Olmeto, held at The End on the first Saturday of every month, is the flagship night for the record label, where the duo always put The End's dancefloor through its paces. With the club due to close on 24th January 2009 after 13 glorious years, there are only a few more opportunities to catch them playing in the venue that is really their home from home.
