Matt Welch and Terry Ryan are Atomic Hooligan. A producer/DJ duo that have been knocking out quality 12" releases for a while now but recently stepped up the pace somewhat with the release of their debut album 'You Are Here' out now on Botchit and Scarper, an album that exemplifies everything that is fresh about the Hooligan's themselves and the sounds they are becoming so well known for.
Atomic Hooligan have never been easy to categorise since they started in 1994, and this album brings together a huge range of influences from old school hip hop to rock to techno - 'You Are Here' features the monster 'Girl Is Filth' which is a more than worthy follow up to their massive dancefloor smash 'Head', leaving devastation in its wake, whilst 'Dreaming' is a subtle builder with a gorgeous breakdown and 'Spitball', a funky crowd-pleaser featuring vocals with attitude from Justine Berry. They have collaborated with a variety of vocalists, all chosen for their unique sound.
But it's not just their album that is rocketing the lads profile sky high. Prolific remixes for the likes of Underworld, Lee Coombs and Plump DJs coupled with a breathtaking live show that has already rocked FABRICLIVE, Cargo and the Ocean Rooms with upcoming appearances at many of the major summer festivals, a cover CD for DJ Mag, mix's on XFM and Radio 1 as well as vocal support from the biggest and best in the breaks scene has put them on a collision course with success.
