Kaleidoscope' is the brainchild of Chicago-bred dj/producer/graphic artist Popstatic. It is an uncompromising attempt to fuse every influence and aesthetic under his expansive musical palette into a singularly eccentric and colorful mix series unlike any other. Using the freedoms that typified the music of the late-60's as a framework for his aesthetic, he weaves disparate sounds from different genres, countries and eras into a surreal, dreamlike musical experience.

Within 'Kaleidoscope' it will not be unusual to hear dance music of a dozen different varieties rubbing shoulders with obscure international pop gems, textural ambient sounds and a whole lot more. Each installment will be a fully-realized, production-intensive, album-length dj mix full of surprises and constant left-turns. Additionally, the mixes will be colored by a sort of hazy party atmosphere, lending the whole affair abstract feelings of nostalgia; as if channeling a party experience from the past.
