"In this digital age and time of apparent economic downturn, you could be forgiven for thinking that launching your own Record label would be an act of lunacy. But not for the Phonica Records crew...In recent months they have notched up some of the biggest sales the shop has seen in it's 5 years in situ on Poland Street in Soho London; with releases such as "Night Flight" from The Revenge and more recently the "Whatever We Want Records" stacking up unfathomable pre-release orders after selling out in a day. Thus proving that there really is still a demand and love for new music in Vinyl format. Phonica Records release their first title this month with Hector and Bryant's "Tension" featuring a huge remix from Bristol based dubsteppers, Appleblim and Al Tourettes.
With Phonica's co founder, Heidi, now gracing the "In New Dj's We Trust" BBC Radio 1 decks with her monthly show, Anthea's recent Ibiza Voice Music podcast as well as forthcoming releases on Phonica Records and Cecille, not to mention Phonica Residents recently hosting rooms at uber successful SECRETSUNDAZE parties and Room 3 at Fabric next month, it's fair to say that 2009 is shaping up pretty nicely and it is clear why Phonica is London's Vinyl Specialist.
As ever, this months show hosted by Nick and Vangelis, features some of the fresh and rare records passing through the shelves at Phonica. You can also hear the remix of the new Phonica Records release, the stunning edits on the new Flashback Label feat excellent artwork courtesy of graffiti artist Inkie and a special hour long guest mix from Jon Sa Trinxa of Salinas beach in Ibiza taking you on a cosmic beach experience like no other"
