Rising from the influential NRK DJ Agency, a company that handled the DJ bookings for a plethora of top DJs including Derrick Carter, Nick Holder, Angel Moraes, Ian Pooley, Carl Craig, Gemini, Steve 'Silk' Hurley, Armand Van Helden, Kenny Carpenter, John Acquaviva and many many more, NRK Music the label released its first 12" single in 1996.
In the 10 years we've been running, NRK have been the label behind many top producers, including Miguel Migs, Peace Division, Nick Holder, Ian Pooley, Magik Johnson, Audio Soul Project. Big releases for us over the years include Francois K's "Time & Space", Kerri Chandler's "Bar A Thym", Quentin Harris' "Let's Be Young", Dimitri From Paris' "Jazzin The House", Joeski & DJ Chus "El Amor", Joey Negro "Ride The Storm", Ian Pooley & Magik J "Piha" and Nick Holder's "Summer Daze". NRK Presents Joey Negro + Ame
NRK Have got a bumper month of releases in June and so on this month's show on samurai.fm they present an interview and a mix from two of the biggest producers in house music.
Back in The Box is a brand new mix series that asks some of the world's longest serving DJs to dig deep into their collections to find the old house records that rocked the party time and time again. The first in the series is from Joey Negro [Dave Lee] , founder of Republic Records and producer for some of the biggest acts in the world and renowned producer in his own right. Dave gives us a 30 min insight into his Back In The Box selection, the reasons for his choices and some of the history behind his selected of tracks, this is a rare insight into the mechanics and history of a truly epic DJ mix.
Next up is the third release in the coast to coast series this time with German stars Ame stepping up to the plates to show exactly why they're hailed as one of the best production and DJ teams on the planet right now, teasing with their trademark dubby house vibes, intricate minimal techno and soulful instrumentals. NRK present an exclusive one hour live mix from them.
Both of these features are flanked with 30 min mix from NRK's Nick and James previewing the latest NRK single offerings.
