Mashit Radio
Now:

Mashit.com pushes forward into the digital DJ era as a destination for those who fiend for nuggets of super-sonic sound, extreme genre-blends, downloadable dubplates, and bounce-mixology. The Mashit record label releases these sounds to the world through our MP3 download shop, while a constant stream of free tracks, DJ mixes, and discussion is provided on our blog and podcast. These Samurai mixes pull together some of the sounds that we've managed to pull out of the hyper-media-scape lately.

Then:

The Mashit record label was founded in 2003 to fill a need for speed-ragga, dub-core, and genre-blends. The first 12-inch vinyl record featured one of DJ C's rough-and-rugged tracks along-side an Aaron Spectre remix and it sold out right away becoming an instant classic. A series of 12-inches followed and they all went on to destroy dance-floors across the globe. In October 2004 Legendary BBC Radio One host John Peel chose Mashit as a "label of the month" and since then the Mashit sound and ethos has continued to evolve.

Mashit Presents DJ C

Mashit Presents DJ C

Beat scholar, party scientist, ragga maniac, and remixer of singers from M.I.A. to Gregory Isaacs, DJ C continues to spread his fiercely eclectic gospel of crunkment, mashstep, ragga-bounce, and grime-hall across the land. He's been pumping out a series of records on U.S., U.K., and Japanese labels including a remix of M.I.A.'s U.R.A.Q.T. for her Galang 05 single on XL Recordings, as well as singles on Shockout, Ninja Tune, Heatwave, Man Recordings, Community Library, and his own Mashit imprint. The tunes have been killing club sound-systems and airwaves worldwide. In fact, legendary BBC Radio 1 host John Peel chose Mashit as a "label of the month" and featured a DJ C mix of Mashit tracks.

Most recently he's been collaborating with bad-man-ragga-vocalist Zulu on a series vinyl releases. Their track Darling will be released shortly on 12-inch with a remix by Montreal bounce maestro Ghislain Poirier. DJ C has also done a remix for Poirier's track "Blazin'" which was released on a Ninja Tune 12-inch. In addition to all the singles, his full-length album Sonic Weapons was released this past summer on the Japanese Wimm Recordings label, along-side a Sonic Weapons 12-inch EP released on Bristol U.K.'s Death$ucker label. These followed his Traced Milk EP released last year. He's also well known for his online DJ mixes. His mix for the Blentcast series was downloaded fourty-thousand times in its first 3 months online. When he's not busy recording, he DJs and performs live for crowds the world over. Look out for a DJ C appearance near you.

The next 7 Mashit 12-inches all went on to destroy discotheques and radio stations across the globe. Legendary BBC Radio One host John Peel chose Mashit as a 'label of the month' in October 2004.
