Mantra Vibes, has been active already for 10 years as the sub label of the historic label Expanded Music from Bologna. Dedicated to the 'alternative' electronic sound almost-strictly 'made in Italy', MANTRA output during the latest years has received acclaim from DJs all over the world. Its motto is "130 BPM eclecticism" and with names as Gaz Nevada, Sueno Latino and Afrika Bambaataa rooted in its DNA it's not difficult to understand the reason.
This attitude has been illustrated by the transversal hit 'Camels' by Santos, top ten in the UK Chart which propelled the Italian artist into the international spotlight or Alex Dolby with 'Psiko Garden' that entered the playlists of the most important DJs while the single 'Hazy Way' remixed by Evil 9 was declared among the best remixes of the past year. Madox is another thoroughbred of the Mantra stable. With his 'dirty' breakbeat and rich of ethnic contaminations he has conquered the English scene receiving a nomination as 'best breakthrough artist' at the Breakspoll Award in 2004. Also P.C.B. the Andrea Doria alter-ego project has surprised everyone conquering opinion almost everywhere offering an electronic sound defined by the most as 'essential'. On this side there are also the advocates of the electro/techno sound, Xplosiva (Giorgio Valletta & Sergio Ricciardone) and Luca Baldini. Recently new entries on Mantra Family includes Ajello and Niki B & Christian E.F.F.E.
This eclecticism has caused the birth of a sub label dedicated to more acid sounds which goes under the name of Mantra Smiles and most of all the surprising Mantra Breaks. This last one is the first Italian label entirely dedicated to breakbeat which counts on it's roster all the Italian leading figures of this sound and in only two years of existence has simply shaken the scene. Mantra has also it's trade mark event which is called 'Pandemonio', a shakadelic and crazy party representing the oddities of the label. Bringing the sounds of this hedonistic party worldwide our show on samurai is called 'Mantra presents Radio Pandemonio'.
