London Underground presents Claude Young - Ultramix

London Underground presents Claude Young - Ultramix

Long associated with the renowned Detroit techno group of techno artists Claude Young has been an integral part of the scene there since 1991. Starting his career at a Detroit radio station, WHYT, as a resident for their Friday and Saturday night broadcasts he quickly became known for his eclectic sets blending house, techno, soul, hip hop and disco. Subsequent event bookings and his unique scratching talents gave him a reputation that was in demand outside his home city leading to bookings around the US and eventually around the world.

Starting his studio career working with artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Claude quickly started making his own productions and in his career so far has released material on over 14 different labels with collaborations from some of his finest contemporaries including Terrence Parker and Mijk van Dijk.

In 1996 he moved to London to ease the burden of constant travel to his increasing number of European bookings and after that moved to Glasgow in 2001 to take up a monthly residency at his newly established event, 'True People' at the famous Tunnel club. In constant demand around the world he is one of the few DJ's whose popularity has remained throughout his career, a testament to his legendary skills behind the decks.
