Adam initially established himself as a DJ in the early nineties' London club scene. He set up the legendary club 'Friction' in '96 with Rennie Pilgrim and Tayo. His two 'Coastal Breaks' compilation albums brought him much media recognition, won him many fans, and subsequently he has been largely instrumental in kick-starting the break-beat movement in many territories around the world. He joined legendary Belgian label R&S Records as A&R, an experience that inspired him to launch his own imprint, Marine Parade Records. Adam has since released two further compilations 'On Tour' and 'Tectonics', recorded with Beber as 'Tsunami One.
He is now one of the worlds most extensively toured DJs, spreading his unique sound as far and wide as possible, with over forty-five U.S., fifteen Australian and ten Asian tours under his belt. He has been resident DJ at Fabric in London since its opening. Adam has just been voted best International DJ in the Dance Music Association awards. Best DJ in the UK breaks poll for two years running, as well as this year winning 'Face of Breaks'. On top of this, his DJ schedule Adam has spent the last three years in the studio with his live band 'Freeland', recording their debut artist album 'Now & Them'. 'We Want Your Soul', the first single from the album, was the first track from the breaks scene to cross over as a hit record.
All our listeners in Japan can catch Adam Freeland live when he touches down later this month to play Addiction @ Simoon, Shibuya, Tokyo on the 18th December.
