Addictive TV presents Citizen Smith and Tolly
The guys from Addictive TV have been producing weird shit in the visual domain for over a decade now and blazing the trail for VJs worldwide. The London-based crew of VJs, DJs, motion graphic artists and producers now also run their own DVD label under the Addictive TV name and since 2000 they've released compilation DVDs of some of the finest collaborative work of VJs, DJs, animators and music producers in the genre.
As VJs & DJs Addictive TV have played at clubs and festivals across the globe including Glastonbury Festival, The Berlin Love Parade, and Fabric in London. In the past they've collaborated with 808 State and Howie B, and in recent years they've mixed live visual sets for Miss Kittin, Andrew Weatherall and top Japanese drum & bass producer DJ AKi. The guys played twice in Japan in 2003, performing VJ sets at both Womb and Yellow, and on Friday April 9th they'll once again bring their unique British visual style to Tokyo, VJing at Club Ageha for the Tokyo London 04 event.
Back in London, Addictive TV are kept busy with their weekly DJ:VJ residency at 'Below 54' in London's East End, where for the last four years they've also been running a separate monthly night called 'The Audiovisual Lounge' - a 'cinematic drinking experience' with a mix of screenings, audiovisual performances and DJ:VJ sets. Right now, Addictive TV are producing the fourth season of their electronic music series "Mixmasters" for UK television, a project of exclusive DJ sets - from artists like DJ Spooky and Plump DJs - fused with visual mixes from the world's top VJs. Japanese artists in the project have included Susumu Yakota, Tread and VJs Glamoove.
These mixes are from Addictive TV's DJ-producers Tolly & Citizen Smith and were recorded at recent events in Paris and London.
