To celebrate the start of Demon Days 2007 season we're pleased to announce the launch of the new Demon Days radio show on Samurai.fm with a very special radio mix from Carl Craig.

DEMON DAYS: An official Planet E Selection - is a quality electronic music club night started in 2004 by acclaimed and influential Detroit-based music producer / DJ / innovator Carl Craig and New York-based DJ Gamall with special artwork provided by Amsterdam-based artist Parra. So far Demon Days events have taken place in New York, Chicago and Detroit. In 2006 the highlight was a special session at New York's PS1 with Berlin's masters of dub Rhythm & Sound. In 2007, Demon Days will be expanding operations with events in San Francisco, Toronto, and Berlin and beyond. The 2007 Demon Days series will kick off with a special NYC party at Studio B in Brooklyn on January 19th. The Demon Days night also acts a showcase for music from Carl's respected independent label Planet E Communications.

Looking back, 2006 was a great year for Carl. The year started with buzz for his remix of Theo Parrish (Groove Magazine remix of the year) and his completion of an incredible remix of "Revelee" for Delia Gonzalez and Gavin Russom (DFA). Universal acclaim for his DFA remix was followed with continued excitement for remixes of Goldfrapp, Rhythm & Sound and X Press 2. Showcasing his original sound, Carl also released the second EP from his Tres Demented project - "Shez Satan" / "Brainfreeze" - a record that opened up new ears to his ever evolving sound and caused the Fader magazine to do a six page story in their Nov/Dec issue on Carl's dark side.

Carl's label Planet E has also been very active in 2006 - hot on the heels of the Tres Demented EP was the excellent debut four-track Latin-infected techno of Ican (50% of Los Hermanos). A sure fire club hit followed in the form of "Full Clip" from German producer wizard Martin Buttrich (it's also nicely featured here on this special mix). Just out in the stores is the melodic beauty of Scotsman Vince Watson's "Renaissance." All three records show Planet E breaking new ground. Proving yet again that the label is about both a distinct and cutting edge sense of taste. Carl has picked nothing but winners. This will continue in 2007 with regular EPs from more new signings. It will also be easier than ever to keep up with the label in 2007with Planet E launching digitally on MTV Urge, iTunes and Beatport in coming months. Be sure to go and check these new releases.
