"With the end of 2008 drawing ever closer its time for a little Aquasky update and we kick things off with the Breakbeat Bass Vol. 4 Mix CD and global tour which has taken us to faraway places as well as some treasured UK locations such as Swansea, Southampton and Westward Ho! The mix is basically a true representation of an Aquasky DJ set, flit-ting between Jackin 4/4, Breakbeats, Bassline Niche, Drum and Bass, Hip Hop and a rub of Dubstep. All points covered so to speak and all sounds of the future embraced! This being the fourth in the series proves that its a popular brand with a loyal following of open-minded musical headz. Next year expect releases mixed by DJ Woody, The Body Snatchers and Aquasky (again!)
On the remix front we have recently been asked by Norman Cook to remix an Ashley Beedle track for his Southern Fried imprint which turned out nice. We are also remixing Nick Thayer, Backdraft and The Body Snatchers for our Passenger label as well as Si Begg (for his label), Slipz N Dapz (more to come on them soon), two remixes for Ozzie label Ho-Ju Records of Journeyman & Barrcode and a remix for Paul Arnolds Fat! label of Baobinga & I.D. As you can see, we wanted to get our name out there on the remix front as we have been sidetracked so much this year running our labels that we felt more Aquasky music was needed in the public domain!
2009 will see Aquasky embark on their next album, which was originally planned for release this year but had to be shelved in order for us to commit to our artist projects on Passenger. The first draft of this album was recorded in LA at the tail end of 2007 but in typical Aquasky style, we have scrapped it all in order to write a whole heap of new music. As anyone who has ever paid attention to Aquasky would testify, we aren't very good at milking a style and are always jumping around between the genres!"
