Dubwise Radio

Dubwise is a label and distributor that rose out of a joint project between Chris Jay and David Slayen in 1994, beginning with two infamous jungle 12's, 'Champion Sound' and 'Junglist Soldjah'. The jungle days were short lived, the duo soon returning to their first love: steppers roots reggae. The first Dubwise 7" Babylon Pressure'' soon followed, beginning the label's 13 year history. Dubwise distribution followed and has grown exponentially carrying the roots reggae message to corners far and wide.

Teach Them Dub: "Back in the early 80's when I was first discovering reggae music, dancehall was king and old reggae was two a penny. In my rush to absorb as much as possible in the shortest possible time I bought indiscriminately, and so discovering what was good, and what was not so good. To access what I liked in one place, the c-90 cassette was king, and I set about reaping what I thought was best for my and my friends listening pleasure, I liked to link up rhythms and there's a few here like drum song, satta dread and stalag and chose tracks representing the diverse styles, so sit back and enjoy the hum, hiss and crackle of this old time cassette tape mix."
