Corrupted Recordings
An enormous frustration with the ways of the underground dance world proved to be the sole catalyst for the inevitable birth of Corrupted Recordings ...

At a time of changes in the industry when record labels opted to avoid taking risks on unknown and emerging producers, Tim Catley & Jeff Sealey had enough of the excuses. The only way forward was establishing a label of their own. The proposed material for the label was very much on the filth ridden side of the dance spectrum and thus, 'Corrupted' was finally chosen as the name to portray that experience.

Corrupted Recordings launched in February '05 with filth, grit, dark, tough and hard energy originally in mind. Its initial aim was to create immediate visibilty within the scene by featuring prominent producers on remix duty. The label thus generated a healthy interest throughout its first year and had success with 'Necrophilia' signed to two compilations released on leading labels within the scene.

Over the course of its first year, Corrupted has had a number of extra hands in the running of the label. However, Tim and Jeff have always been at the helm of the project. With the departure of associates in early '06, the duo in charge re-evaluated their direction, amended the label ethos to expand their target market by including further genres and added GRiT to the Corrupted equation.

August '06 saw the beginning of further adventure for the crew ... Corrupted Data, the digital arm of the main label launched in full force!

Both labels offered a wide slice of underground dance music with its multi-genre, crossover releases covering Electro, House, Hard House, Hard Trance, NRG, Tech-Trance, Techno and everything in-between.

Since then, changes within the music scene and style have lead to the halt on the main vinyl label of Corrupted Recordings. Tim is still the main man at the head of the Corrupted stable and has taken the music in another direction, since then the digital arm of Corrupted “Corrupted Data” has flourished. Providing all forms of Techno has bought in a new wave of great up & comers and established artists that has been a breath of fresh air to the label. Not one for bending on the quality Tim keeps a keen eye on the tracks being released to make sure that all releases make the “Corrupted” standard.

With the music bug still in his veins, Tim has recently bought a new vinyl label into the Corrupted “family”, Cosa Nostra was born January 2010. The new family have arrived and aim to bring Techno and all of it’s forms to the front and in the usual Corrupted vision bring up & coming artists together with established producers to provide an unbeatable force in every release.

Corrupted still continue to support emerging producers to promote their high quality productions as well as established artists in its jaunt to provide material suitable for an experience of utterly corrupted senses!

more cracking mixes and guests for you this month starting with Dutch DJ & Producer Rick B (aka DJ Dyno)

His love for music started when he was a little kid. Listening to the radio almost 24/7, he often heard mixes from the Dutch Mastermixer Ben Liebrand. Because of this, his interest in music became more intensive. With his cassette recorder he tried to make remixes like Ben did, with various results.

At the end of the 80s, he often went to a discotheque in The Hague where well known (hardcore) deejays played. It was there where he first came across the so called "DJ". Not much later he bought himself a turntable and a simple mixer. His second turntable came from his dad, who did'nt use it anymore. Then the practicing began to learn the right skills to become a great DJ. ONE year later, he performed his first set in the same discotheque in The Hague where he was a regular guest!! From 1991 he started to buy records on a weekly basis and performed in small bars, party's and some birthdays. He now has more than 2250 (mostly hardcore and hardstyle) vinyl records in his collection, and a large collection of (mostly house, dance, latin and club) CD's. Since then, he played on many parties, festivals, in bars and clubs.

Recently, he started producing his own tracks and concentrating on his own style of Tech House.

Our Second and final guest for the month is Leon Vuksic (Ready2Rock, CrashTune Recordings, Kaseta Music)

Leon Vuksic was born in Karlovac, 10th of July 1992. When he was only 16,he was in intensive monitoring and dealing with electronic music.
In 2008 he got his hand on his first mixer and learned to play with DJ software. Eventually, improved technique and mixing and started using CD Players.

In the summer of 2009. he became a resident at the beach bar Southern Comfort in Baska Voda (Makarska) is thus begins to build a professional career, playing Tech House, Progressive House and Techno.
After the summer he returned to Zagreb and represents his sound in the club No.1 , where he soon becomes a resident and changes his style to a more
Tech House and Techno vibe. In November 2009. has its first performance before a larger audience in Aquarius club in Zagreb at the famous Astralis party, and that leaded to be a guest at the Zagreb's Plavi Radio in the show "Zagreb DJ Music. "

Leon has preformed in all clubs in Zagreb and beyond, and became an interesting name and his sound is begining to leave bigger trace.

Starting the new year with getting our Funk on, our first guest is Producer Pep Bago who also goes under the alias of Narcisso. He'll be dropping a fine blend of Tech House and Techno to shake off those Christmas blues!

Closely following on from that we have Slovenian DJ & Producer Zule bringing up the funk once more.

His music journey started when he was about 15 years old when he first heard his fathers CD Medicine Woman and Medwyn Goodall . Afro-tribalistic sounds and the naturalistic atmospheres just impressed him. He discovered the music programs which were available then and he started writing music. The presence of natural instruments were always there. African tribes and their special ceremony chant singing, playing their special instruments out there deep in the jungle and natural melodies are the things he loves. But thats not all in his large music aspect. He also produce music based on slow deep funk house club sounds. He is known for his special natural sound.
Big influence made several producers. To name a few .... Mark Williams, Paul Mac, Mark Broom, Joris Voorn,...

His first release has happened on the label Impact Mechanics from Chicago,USA and has been played on Miami Winter Music Conference.

Now he is releasing his music on big labels like Stimulus with Paul Mac, Be As One, Nightvision, home label Vezotonik by Veztax, Sub Cult and many more.
He had a honor to do a remix for one of the main dj / producer in Holland, Orlando Voorn. Zule remixed his track Yes We Can! and it is released on label Subject Detroit.
