What happens when you take an accomplished dancer who's musically trained and a Mobile street dj classically trained and unleash them in a studio? Well, if the conditions are right, you might get Aux 88. But most certainly not overnight...
Tommy Hamilton was a member of a number of different dance groups, from the Cosmic Swingers, the Motor City Poppers, to the Devo Dancers. Keith Tucker, a local dj who was playing all over the state at any part he could. Things were going good, but Tom and Keith were looking for something else. It was through the local parties and dance scene that Tom met up with Tucker.
In September of 1992, while working on new tracks for Metroplex Records, Tucker received a visit from Tommy Hamilton. They brought their experiences together to form AUX-88, and found that their music talents had matured since the early 1980's. Using their Detroit Techno background, the two quickly accumulated a mass of new tracks together, as well as individually and joined the Burden brothers of 430 West to state their new electro bass stamp on direct beat and the world.
Tucker went solo in 1995 to create his own label called Puzzlebox inspired by close friend Anthony Shakir. Tom didn't miss a beat. Reuniting with BJ (Posatronix) former dancer, Aux 88 went on to release a multitude of bass pumping anthems .while Tom Tom went on to record "Xeo-Genetic," the last Aux offering on Direct Beat records. The Album received two Detroit Music awards for Best Artist and Best Recording.
2004 sparked the return of the original duo to create their New LP coming entitled AUX88 in the summer of 2006.
Now here on Samurai fm. The duo can now expand on their alias Created on 430 West Alien Fm. Pure and simple a radio station in space programmed by their alien personas. Alien Fm will consist of interviews with Tucker and Hamilton on their origins and music. Future shows will feature electro and Techno music from not only the darkest allies of planet Detroit but through out the world, keep listening for unreleased tracks and just sitting down on the bass station chatting.
